LYDC’s designated Child Protection Officer undertakes a risk assessment prior to the operation of each project. Where necessary, details of risky equipment are noted and appropriate steps are taken to minimise this risk.
In the event of an incident/accident, the following steps should be carried out:
If the accident is minor, ensure all reasonable and appropriate action is taken to minimise the effect.
If the accident is of a more serious nature then an ambulance may need to be called. LYDC’s register of contact details for children/young people should be consulted and the relevant person made aware of the accident and of the actions being taken.
All accidents should be reported to the Designated Child Protection Officer or the Deputy Child Protection Officer.
LYDC's Child Protection Officer is Katy Hewison, Dance Limerick.
